Report on Turnitin Training Programme 2026

Report on Turnitin Training Programme Organised by the Central Library, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, held on 17th March 2026.


The Central Library of the IIT Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with Turnitin, organised an offline training session on “Latest Features and Best Practices for Effective Use of Turnitin” on 17th March 2026.

The session witnessed participation from over 50 attendees, including faculty members, research scholars, students, and staff. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo, followed by the formal inauguration by Dr Sasidhar Kondaraju, who underscored the importance of academic integrity and the need for continuous training of researchers.

The training covered key aspects such as navigating Turnitin Feedback Studio, interpreting similarity reports, and best practices for ethical writing. A major highlight was the demonstration of AI-powered features, including AI writing detection, enhanced similarity analysis, and contextual matching to identify potential misuse.

The resource person, Mr Avishek Ray, along with his team, further enriched the session by providing practical insights into manuscript preparation, publication workflows, and plagiarism awareness.

The session concluded successfully, enhancing participants’ understanding of effective Turnitin use and reinforcing the importance of academic integrity and ethical research practices. The programme ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Sambhunath Sahoo, Assistant Librarian, IIT Bhubaneswar, who acknowledged the contributions of the speaker, Turnitin, and all participants.
